What is the Crime Prevention Warden Programme 2026?

Phase 2 AmaPanyaza CRIME PREVENTION 2026 The Gauteng Department of Community Safety is currently offering an empowering opportunity for young and agile individuals from Coloured and Indian communities within Gauteng to become Crime Prevention Wardens.

This initiative aims to strengthen community-based safety structures and reduce crime in targeted areas by recruiting and training committed youth who are passionate about maintaining law and order.

Successful candidates will undergo an intensive training programme, both theoretical and physical, to equip them with the necessary skills to operate effectively in public safety roles.

During the training period, candidates will receive a monthly stipend of R4,000. Upon successful completion of the training, candidates may be absorbed into operational safety teams under the Directorate of Traffic Management.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric qualification
  • Physically fit and agile
  • No criminal record or pending cases
  • Willingness to undergo both theoretical and physical training
  • Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays
  • Targeted specifically at Coloured and Indian young people in Gauteng

Duties and Responsibilities

During the training period, candidates will be working under supervision and are expected to:

  • Assist in crime prevention operations
  • Conduct stop and search procedures
  • Support arrest processes and law enforcement activities
  • Respond to community complaints and disturbances
  • Maintain law and order in public spaces
  • Support traffic control initiatives in identified areas

  • Western Corridor: Corner of Neptune & Saturn Streets, Westonaria – Ref No: DCS/2026/06/05
